Immerse yourself in natural sound and birdsong with Terra. This app connects you to live wildlife sounds from around the globe, allowing you to hear exotic birds from various locations such as the Sandhill Crane in the USA, a baby Toucan in Panama, or a nesting Tropicbird in Bermuda. You can even see bird identification information while you listen. Please note that new locations will be added throughout 2023.

Cellular Tracking Technologies (CTT), a world-leading manufacturer of wildlife tracking devices, provides the Bird ID technology found in Terra.

Which countries are compatible with the Terra app?
The Terra app works in all locations with Wi-Fi when listening to the curated locations. However, if used with the Terra Listen device in your backyard, the bird identification feature is currently only available in North America, Central America, and Europe - with plans for further expansion.

Terra is a groundbreaking, community-driven wildlife project that sends migration data to researchers anonymously. This data aids in tracking species and entire bird populations for the first time, resulting in a new scientific database and a potent tool for conservation efforts.

As of Thursday, May 11th, periodic maintenance is being carried out on the feeds, with ongoing optimizations for the BIRD ID feature. You can still download the app to enjoy birdsong and bird identification. Alternatively, if you prefer to wait for the full experience, leave your details at <a href="https://terralistens.click/app">terralistens.click/app</a> (yellow section) to receive the app as soon as all enhancements are finalized!
The app will identify exotic birds at curated locations for free and also recognize your backyard birds by their calls in real time - likened to 'Shazam for birds.' Please note that a Terra device is required to identify backyard birds.
